Big Tiny Steps

F**k the Reddit doom and gloom. YOU. CAN. DO. THIS.

(At 75% of full dosage, and day 4 of taking the Bright Mind natural Adderall alternative)

Still, no signs of withdrawals, and after day 4 of taking Bright Mind, with my mind brimming over with ideas for solving my financial challenges with new business endeavors that are exciting to me and truly meet a need. And from what I’ve heard successful people say, the combination of energized inspiration and meeting a need are a crucial part of the process.

So I am becoming a believer in Bright Mind, since this seems like precisely the effect that the drink is touted to generate.

Rungs of a Ladder

I am also becoming a firm believer in the value of weaning rather than going cold turkey.

This belief stems from another belief I have, which is that small steps tend to be more permanent.

Think of the process of personal transformation like climbing a ladder.

Imagine you’re climbing a ladder with rungs that are 4 feet apart. You’d have to put in some serious muscule to climb between each rung, and God forbid you slip and fall. One misstep, and you’re quite likely plummet all the way back down to where you started, but even worse off since you have the double whammy of having to start over AND possibly suffer some broken bones or other serious injuries.

On the other hand, if the rungs of your ladder are close together and only require that you make small and easy steps, and if you slip, then it’s no big deal. The slip is just a blip.

It’s like a Tortoise and the Hare sort of thing, where making those giant steps up the ladder, assuming you have the “muscle” to pull yourself up that way, technically get you to the top faster, but ultimately, slow you down.

Why?

Because you are a human being, of course. Which means you will almost definitely “slip” in one way or another. And with the large steps, those slips become plunges followed by serious injuries, and nothing will slow you down more than that.

So unless you are able to take time away from your life to recover from potentially debilitating withdrawal symptoms, and have a great support system that you can lean on each and every day, then I believe that cold turkey is going to be much like climbing a ladder with four feet between each step.
